We went to Arizona for a week and enjoyed some awesome weather, except for the last 2 days when my feet started swelling. It was nice to get away and spend time with family. I can't think of a better vacation.
Of course the boys had to ride the go-cart. They did much better this time than they did last year.
Michael and Shane took us to the lake. They bought a wave runner at the beginning of summer and are definitely getting their use out of it. I'm kinda bummed I didn't get a picture of them but I did get one of the kids.
The boys had more fun playing on the shore than being pulled on the tube.
Chris and Benson
Grandma with Grant and Porter
Happy Birthday to Grant
Grant had his birthday while we were in AZ. The big 4. Chris and Benson went to the $1 store and each bought Grant a present with their own money. The glasses, gun, watch, and walkie-talkie (in the pocket) were part of a police man set. Benson picked out a recorder for Grant. He knew grant would love it since he doesn't know how to whistle yet.
We had Jeremy and his family, Jimmy's family, and the neighbors over for a little party.
We made a pinata. Actually Josh and Michael made this one. Mine did not turn out.
(Hit the pinata on Grandpa's head)
Grant wanted a race car cake. This is as close as we got.
Some Special Things About Grant
- He cannot leave the kittens alone
- Loves to be outside
- He delusional when he is tired
- Loves to fight
- Idiot is his favorite word (we are working on that)
- He is so sweet and cute at night and devious during the day
- People often think he is the oldest
- Trys to tell knock knock jokes that are only hilarious because they don't make any sense
- Loves, loves, loves, to help me cook. Sometimes I wish that weren't the case.
- He is rough and tough and all boy, though he has mellowed out a ton in the last 6 months.
- He is the only one in our family who hates drinking green smoothies but he will drink them in a red cup.
- A screw driver, hammer, and shovel will literally entertain him all day
- He is really good at the game Memory. The best in our family. I don't let him win but some how he always does. For some reason it took Benson a lot longer to catch on to the strategy of the game.
- He loves music and will ask me to teach him songs I know that he hasn't heard before.
- He asks me to tell the story about Grandma and Grandpa's van getting stolen when I was a little girl sometimes 3 times a day or a couple times a week. I don't know what it is about the story that intrigues him so much.
- He loves babies. He will be a big help with this next one.
- He doesn't want us to kiss him goodnight or at all.
- He doesn't like going to church so I tell him he can stay home all by himself. He doesn't like that idea. Hopefully he gets over it before it back fires in my face and he is no longer afraid to be at home by himself. Any help in that department would be appreciated.
We love our Grant and have really had to make sure he gets the attention he needs, being the middle child, and it has made a huge difference. He is so independent so it's easy to over see his needs. Even though he is a little rebel and stubborn I just pray the good will always shine through and he will always choose the better choice.
