We colored Easter eggs this morning. I figured we better get on it since Easter is tomorrow. Josh didn't want to open a new package of egg dye because we already had 1 open with 2 tablets. The boys got bummed that they only had 2 colors to choose from then Benson came up with the genius idea that they could mix the 2 colors and have 3 choices. He is a great problem solver. Grant isn't I'm the picture because he kept getting disappointed and running off. It obviously didn't go the way he wanted it to.
Since being a parent, I've come to really despise Easter. It's one of those holidays that is centered on Christ and I'm grateful for that but it's really difficult to help my children remember that when a imaginary character brings them a basket full of eggs with candy in it, and my kids know that the Easter bunny isn't real. At least with Christmas it's ask about giving because that's what Christ did. It's easier to tie in the meaning of Christmas that Easter. Really, what does a bunny and candy have anything to do with the resurrection or atonement or Christ?
