Porter's Birthday

Porter turned 4 years old. His 4th birthday was a big deal because we prepped and prepared him so that when he turned 4 he would be able to get dressed by himself, wipe his bottom by himself, and lots of other things because now he was a big boy. This sweet little boy has been my most dependent child yet, loves to do whatever his big brothers do.
Porter wanted a Reck-it-Ralph birthday cake and it pretty much turned into a disaster but hey, afterall, Ralph did live in a dump, so we called this Ralph's dump.
Porter loves candy more than anyone I know. Of course all kids love candy but, I often find him going up to strangers asking for candy.
Every Sunday I have to remind him that he is not allowed to ask anyone for gum and after church I have to check his pockets to make sure he didn't fill them with candy from the Bishops office. A while ago we were in the grocery store parking lot when Porter saw a total stranger reach into her pocket for her keys. He thought she was reaching for candy so he asked her if he could have some candy. One time at the library, the librarian gave him a sucker so now every time he goes to the library he thinks he will get a sucker is he just asks. Last week we were at the park when Porter comes up to me holding a snow cone. I asked where he got it from and he said a lady bought it for him. I never saw who the lady was but I was totally embarrassed and hoped she had left before she saw my face. He is quite the little hustler with his million dollar smile and sweet voice. His whole face lights up when he smiles. We have been going through a stage where he wakes up every morning so grumpy and always finding something to be mad about. HE favorite word is "Idiot" (we're working on this). His favorite food is anything sweet. Even though he has a major sweet tooth he does a really good job of eating fruits and veggies every day.
For Porter's birthday he got a new scooter that he has been wanting for a year so he can ride with his brothers at the skate park. Grandpa Versey gave him is very own tin of jaw breakers and skittles. He was the happiest boy in the world. The candy was all gone in about 2 days. Grandpa Versey always has jaw breakers and of course Porter asks for one everytime.
Even though this boy can throw one heck of a temper tantrum is very kind to other children and his little sister, though, he loves to tease her - A LOT. Porter love riding his bike, playing outside, and listening to books. His favorite book is Caps for Sale. He is a snuggler and loves attention. Every fast Sunday he shares his testimony, which he has learned to do from his older brothers.
The cake literally kept falling apart but he didn't care because it had lots of candy.
I love this boy and I am so happy to be his mom.
