Josh is gettin' old

How did this happen? I feel like I was in high school just yesterday. It's as though you are terribly reminded of getting old twice a year, your b-day and your spouse b-day. Josh turned 29 Oct. 11. He had to go to work but at least he didn't have class that night he was able to come home to the meal of his choice and to some AWESOME b-day presents.

When I asked him what he wanted for his b-day dinner he thought for a moment and said, "How about meatloaf?" MEATLOAF? Who wants meatloaf for their b-day dinner? He could've had anything and he chose meatloaf? I admit, I love the simplicity of my husband. So we had meatloaf for dinner and it was lovely. For dessert I made a, from scratch, spice cake. Oh, did make our home smell good - with with cream cheese frosting on top, yum! yum! We even found some edible skated boarding cake decals to decorate the cake with.

The boys and I made him some fortune candies (instead of fortune cookies). We bought small candy bars and cut up strips of paper. On the inside of the paper we wrote him love notes or fortunes. Whenever he goes to eat a candy bar, he get to open the strip of paper taped to the candy bar. He has been enjoying them all week.
Benson also made Josh a book and we discovered how they came up with the game Mad Gab. Benson spells phonetically really well, but he also wrote his books back words from right to left (instead or left to right). When Josh opened his present Benson was so excited he said, "Dad do you want to read your book right now?" I was afraid he would be let down that we couldn't read it. Some words are easier to read then others. Josh just sped through the sounds of the letter not know what he was reading and I understood everything he said perfectly! He started his story out with, "Once upon a time it was a lovely day." We laughed so hard and it became a game.  This is a picture of the second page. See if you can make out what it says?

You can see he put a lot of work into this book and why he was so excited to give it to his dad. These are the bears of his story.
Josh is a great man and sacrifices so much on behalf of his family. I love him so much and everything about him. I am so lucky to have him as my eternal companion.
