Happy Birthday to my Wild Child!
We had a little party for Grant's 3rd birthday. He decided he wanted a turtle cake for his birthday so we made 2, one for him and Benson to decorate and one for people to eat.I was really excited about his gift...Josh made him a sandbox for his birthday. Because we live in the country you can't just have any sandbox, you need a sand box with a lid or it becomes a litter box. So Josh put hinges on it and I painted the wood with some dinosaurs on top. My art work is not displayed because only my children would appreciate my artistic ability. (At least they could tell they were dinosaurs.) We filled it with sand, put some sand toys in there and he was in heaven. It has been well used already. We put the sandbox close to the garden so that I can be working in the garden while they play in the sandbox and my plants won't get dug up. Genius, I know.
Grant got lots of fun things from friends and family. Grandpa Versey got him a bow and arrow! A real one...it works...too well. So it is a gift with limitations. Do you ever feel guilty about giving your child a gift with limitations? "Sorry you can't eat all your candy at once," or "Only when we go camping," "Maybe you can play with your birthday present when your 8." Haha. We decided it would be a great camping activity.
Grant is full of energy, loves to eat, loves to wrestle, loves to yell. Almost everyday he asked me if I want to wrestle with him and I do, but it won't be too long before he is too big to "pretend fight" with. He loves to tease his older brother and I am so grateful the worst words he knows are penis and stupid because I can guarantee he would be saying them. While he can drive me absolutely bonkers during the day, he is a night owl and transforms into this sweet little angel and we have some of the best conversations about anything and everything; things I didn't know a 3 year thought about. I love this little boy to pieces and I am so grateful he is mine.
