Sunday Night I heard little feet going in and out of my room. I laid in bed pretending I was asleep, because sometime I am left alone if I am. When I woke up in the morning there was a piece of paper thumb tacked to the wall on Josh's side of the bed and one on my side of the bed. As soon as Benson heard us he came running in our room. He said, "I couldn't sleep last night so I made a little suprise for you. Dad, your's says 'Dad Your the Best Cookie Monster,' and Mom, your's says 'Your the best cooker ever.'" It was so cute and even cuter because he was so excited about it. He did it in the dark - I think he did pretty good!
By the time we got home from church Benson was mad at me for something and went running in my room and tore up the note he wrote for me. He said I was a mean mom. It kind of made me sad, but I think he really meant I was one mean cook! That is why mine is pieced together. He is a funny little boy.
My friend Janel invited us to huckleberry picking with them. I was so excited I had a dream about it the night before - Really my dream was just driving to the mountains and we pulled over on the road and there was some huckleberries. I don't have much of an imagination as you can see. We picked until we couldn't see anymore because it was dark. Oh, but there were so many I could've stayed for a another whole day. They were so yummy.
A picture of our sideways huckleberry muffins for breakfast the next day.
A few days ago one of Josh's dad's trees' just broke, all on it own. It was actually just a branch but the tree is over 100 years old. It fell on the power and into the middle of the road. Of course we can never pass up free fire wood since that's how we heat our house in the winter. Then I had this extremely happy thought; in several years Benson, Grant, and even Porter will actually be really helpful when it come to loading and unloading the wood. It will go so much faster. One of the many reasons I love having boys!
My friend Jeni Peine gave me a great idea to start blogging my homeschool experiences and adventures on a seperate blog so, if you even care to read them you can go to My Homeschooling Journal and read all about it. I know it is a very original name, thank you.
